Soft Armour Bags

Our two and four cubic yard bags have been successfully installed for over 25 years in very hostile environments providing protection for man made drilling islands. The bags can be easily filled on site, and their built in straps make accurate placement safe and efficient.

Coastal Protection for Offshore Drilling in the Arctic

In 1979 Syn-Tex started providing and developing various forms of shoreline and slope protection in the rugged Beaufort Sea area of Alaska and Canada.

In the case of our Beaufort Sea drilling islands, the bags offer year round protection. Two or four cubic yard bags filled with gravel will incur little damage during the eight months the ice will prevail. When the ice is gone, these same bags will provide the island with the protection required to prevent major erosion and slope damage.
